SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative – Permanent Shade
Shade helps protect children from skin cancer and the sun by reducing UVR exposure by up to 75%.
To address this, Cancer Council Queensland and the Queensland Government are working in partnership to deliver the SunSmart Shade Creation Initiative.
In 2023, not-for-profit organisations on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland who cater to children 0 – 18 years, can apply for up to 100% of funding to a maximum of $25,000 to purchase permanent, hard roof fixed shade structures.
Check the map below to see if you are in the Sunshine Coast Queensland region:
Eligible organisations include state primary and secondary schools, junior sporting clubs and community childcare facilities.
If your organisation is eligible, we encourage you to apply.
