The Longest Day ProCrew Golf Event – Monday 13 December 2021

The Longest Day Rob Carter

It’s not every day that a company goes out of its way to support a team member, but this year the team at ProCrew in Chinchilla will be doing just that. Procrew is hosting its very own The Longest Day Challenge Golf Event to support valued employee Rob Carter – who has been living with cancer for 10 years.

ProCrew has booked the whole course for the day and will be donating all the funds to Cancer Council Queensland. They are expecting a full house of 72 golfers playing from dawn till dusk!

Rob Carter is looking forward to playing golf with colleagues and friends again for this year’s The Longest Day – which raises vital funds for Cancer Council Queensland.

We are very proud to have Rob (who has spent many years fundraising for us) as Cancer Council Queensland’s The Longest Day Ambassador.

At just the tender age of 25, Rob’s future looked daunting and uncertain when doctors discovered a tumour half the size of a football on his liver! What followed was 10 years of cancer recurrences, and constant trips from Chinchilla to Brisbane for treatment and surgery.

At one point a tumour on his spinal cord caused so much pain that the only relief he could find was to keep moving. He would walk around the streets of his neighbourhood all night to ease the pain!

Despite all that he has been through over the last decade, he is still on a mission to raise vital funds for Cancer Council Queensland, to help ease the burden for other people living with cancer.

‘I’d like to mark the 10-year point of my cancer journey with something worthwhile. I want to feel worthwhile and that I’ve helped,’ says Rob.

The Longest Day ProCrew Golf Event

Above all Rob is passionate about giving back and supporting The Longest Day after using Cancer Council Queensland’s support services many times such as counselling, the Brisbane Lodges and the Lodge Bus.

Have you ever wanted to contribute to an organisation that truly makes a difference to the lives of those living with cancer? Why not try something fun and different this year by playing golf at Cancer Council Queensland’s The Longest Day?

You could even follow ProCrew’s lead and get your work team together for a relaxed game of golf on 13th December (or you can choose any day that suits) to hold your own Longest Day golf marathon.

It’s never been easier to find a local supporting club and register your team!

The Longest Day is an endurance golf marathon designed to test your skill, strength, and stamina. The challenge is to successfully complete your chosen number of holes from dawn to dusk and raise funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services.

We rely on the generosity of fundraisers and donors to continue our vital work – and are thankful for the team at ProCrew for doing what they can to make a difference. Our fundraising events raise money to provide lifesaving research, prevention, and support services to those affected by cancer in our community.

ProCrew is inviting all their clients and partners to join the golf day on Monday 13 December at Gatton Jubilee Golf Club.

ProCrew also encourages other companies across Queensland to participate in the event or make a donation to Cancer Council Queensland’s The Longest Day.

From all of us at Cancer Council Queensland, thank you to Rob and everyone at ProCrew for their ongoing support.
It’s really wonderful to see Rob’s community, and all Queenslanders, rally to support
The Longest Day.
Will you help make a difference by joining Rob and take part in The Longest Day this year?

Together, we can create a brighter future for all Australians.

Register now (or simply make a donation) and let’s tee off for a cancer free future.
