Thank you for raising your cuppa for a cure

Dear Editor,

I am writing today to thank the thousands of Queenslanders who raised their cups for a cancer free future during May.

More than 4600 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea hosts gathered people together in homes, schools, offices and community centres across the state to help us raise more than $2.2 million to help ease the burden of cancer.

One person is diagnosed with cancer every 20 minutes in Queensland – the length of an average tea break. We all know someone who has been affected by the disease.

Through the simple act of hosting or attending a morning tea, you have provided vital hope to all Queenslanders affected by cancer.

Every dollar raised through Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will go towards lifesaving cancer research, prevention programs and support services.

If you haven’t hosted a morning tea yet – it’s not too late. Visit www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85 to register and host an event anytime in June.

With your generosity, we can be there for all Queenslanders, every minute, every hour, every day.
