Relay To Rio hits the track

Last weekend we launched our new Relay To Rio campaign in a bid to get more Queenslanders involved in our iconic community event.

Relay To Rio aims to generate awareness of Relay For Life and promote Cancer Council Queensland in cities and towns across the state.

Specifically, the campaign’s goal is to get Relayers active by walking, running or moving the 14,000 kilometers from Brisbane to Rio.

The road to Rio will be lit by an official Relay For Life Queensland Torch, which will travel the state appearing in social media posts along the way.

Our hope is to get pictures with as many participants, teams, committees, and public figures as possible, posting the pictures with the hashtag #RelaytoRio.

The Relay Torch will visit the following cities and towns along the way:

July 1-4 – Gold Coast
July 5-7 – Brisbane
July 8-10 – Toowoomba
July 11-14 – Sunshine Coast
July 15-17 – Wide Bay Burnett
July 18-20 – Rockhampton
July 21-23 – Mackay
July 24-27 – Townsville
July 28-30 – Cairns

All volunteers are encouraged to support the campaign by appearing in a Torch photo and helping us travel the 14,000 kilometres.

For more information, please contact your local Relay For Life coordinator.
