Show you care about beating cancer this Daffodil DayPeppa Pig, the newest ambassador for Cancer Council, has released a range of fundraising Daffodil Day products available at Coles and Coles Express stores nationwide.
Each year on Daffodil Day (August 28) communities across the State show their vital support for cancer research, education programs and patient support services, by purchasing fresh flowers and merchandise.
Cancer Council Queensland hopes to raise $1.7 million this Daffodil Day, while nationally the campaign aims to raise $8.5 million.
To help reach the target, Peppa Pig Daffodil Day stickers ($4) will be available in Coles and Coles Express stores Daffodil Day merchandise boxes along with traditional Daffodil Day pens ($6) and pins ($5). Exclusive to Coles will be the Peppa Pig Daffodil Day Reusable Shopping Bags ($2), available from July 29. Coles Express will stock the exclusive Peppa Pig Daffodil Day drink bottle ($8) from now until September while stocks last.
Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said the charity was excited to have the support of Peppa Pig this Daffodil Day.
“Peppa Pig is hugely popular and we know this important partnership will allow us to raise vital awareness and teach families across the State about the importance of Daffodil Day,” Ms Clift said.
“Purchasing merchandise might seem like a simple gesture, but it means you are brightening the life of someone touched by cancer.
“All funds raised for Daffodil Day go towards vital cancer research, prevention and education programs and patient support services.
“Your support will give hope for better treatments, hope for more survivors and hope for a cancer free future.”
This is Peppa Pig’s first fundraising campaign as the newest Cancer Council ambassador, having joined the charity in April to encourage children to embrace a healthy lifestyle as well as help raise money for the charity.
Trish Padoin from eOne Licensing Australia said: “We hope that Peppa Pig’s popularity and therefore the popularity of these products in Coles and Coles Express stores will really help drive fundraising for this great charity. Cancer Council does incredible work that needs the support of all Australians, young and old.”
