Chilly change calls to stock up on your Chari-tea essentials!

The chilly change in Queensland temperatures calls for something warm! Why not make your dollar count by buying a 2014 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea mug and celebrate with your favorite toasty brew this May?

Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is fast approaching, with all Queenslanders invited to pop the kettle on this May 22 and tip the balance in the fight against cancer!

This year a whole range of commemorative morning tea items are available for purchase, along with the official mug to celebrate the 21st year of Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Queenslanders can purchase a limited edition 2014 mug for $10, with funds raised supporting Cancer Council Queensland’s vital work in cancer research, education and patient support.

May 22 is the official tea party date, but events can be held anytime throughout May or June. If Queenslanders can’t host an event, they can show their support through purchasing merchandise or making a donation.

Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said there has never been a better excuse to pop the kettle on and take some time out to help in the fight against cancer.

“Together we can beat cancer – so switch that kettle on, grab your 2014 mug and enjoy a cuppa for a great cause!” Ms Clift said.

“You’ll bring an air of carnival to your kitchen by picking up our cute blue, DIY-themed merchandise – they will make a lovely addition to your kitchen, workplace, or could even be a cute gift.

“More than 6,700 morning tea hosts from around Queensland will gather in living rooms, community center’s, schools and workplaces to celebrate Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and raise more than $2.5 million for cancer research, education programs and patient support services.

“Nationally, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is enjoyed by more than a million people each year and collectively, over two decades of tea partying, the event has raised around $110 million for the fight against cancer.

“So go on, order a fancy new mug, flick the kettle on and register to join the biggest tea party event of the year to help us reduce the impact of cancer on all Queenslanders!”
