Create your own fundraiser to join the fight against cancer

Cancer Council launched the Do It For Cancer campaign this week, calling on Queenslanders to create their own fundraiser to join the fight against cancer.
Do It For Cancer is a community fundraising initiative that supports people to fundraise in any way that they like.
Some people like to shave their heads, some challenge themselves to an ocean swim and some give up their birthdays to raise vital funds and awareness, supporting more than 25,000 Queenslanders who will be diagnosed this year alone.
Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said whatever Queenslanders chose to do, the funds they raised go towards vital research, prevention and support services across the State.
“Do It For Cancer is simply about everyday Queenslanders doing what they can to raise funds to help us beat cancer,” Ms Clift said.
“1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. We need your help to beat this disease and support those affected.
“Do It For Cancer gives you the power to make a difference in the fight against cancer, in your own way. You can race, work, sell, shave, quit, gift – do anything – to support all Queenslanders affected by all cancers.
“So get creative, get your friends and workmates involved, and do it for cancer!
“Without the support of generous Queenslanders, Cancer Council Queensland would not be able to conduct life-saving cancer research, offer vital support to those affected, and educate people on how to reduce their cancer risk.”
