Tea, coffee and food has taken over Instagram, but this May it’ll be for a good cause – Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea launch in Brisbane!
Cancer Council Queensland is teeing up with some of Brisbane’s most popular Instagramers, foodie bloggers and radio personalities to officially launch Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 2015.
The Australia’s Biggest BYO Morning Tea will be held at New Farm Park on May 3 and encourages Instagrammers and bloggers, their followers, community members, friends and families to come together for an InstaMeet.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Ambassadors 4KQ News Anchor Jo Hayes and 97.3FM News Anchor Monique Dews will host the event.
Jo said Australia’s Biggest BYO Morning Tea would bring the online community together to meet and mingle while supporting a worthwhile cause.
“Intagrammers and bloggers meet all over the world to take and share photos – this InstaMeet is a great way for the community to come together and share their love of morning tea while showing support for all Queenslanders impacted by cancer,” she said.
“We want people to join together and share their life experiences and show just how easy supporting Queenslanders impacted by cancer can be.
“The Instagram and blogging community are very supportive of each other and we are thrilled to have their help sharing the important work Cancer Council Queensland does in cancer prevention, education and patient support services.”
97.3FM News anchor and foodie blogger, Monique Dews said the event would combine her passion for blogging and promoting healthy lifestyles.
“I love morning teas – there are so many delicious treats to be had that are both simple to make and most importantly, very healthy,” she said.
“As Ambassadors, we are calling on all locals to get involved in the iconic campaign by coming along to Australia’s Biggest BYO Morning Tea at New Farm Park.”
The Brisbane High Tea Lovers meet-up group will also come together at the event, the online social club has more than 200 active members.
Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift urged the community to get involved.
“Come on down and join us at Australia’s Biggest BYO Morning Tea, or register to host your own event this May to show someone you care,” Ms Clift said.
“Follow Cancer Council Queensland on Instagram to keep up-to-date and be sure to use the hashtag #biggestmorningtea to help get the word out – everyone is welcome to attend.”
