Australia’s answer to the much-loved Ugly Xmas Sweater will be launched statewide today – the Queensland-made limited edition Ugly Xmas Rashie!
Created by KOZII Swimwear – Gold Coast-based creators of performance swimwear – the Ugly Xmas Rashie is sun safe and 100 per cent Australian made, with all profits from every sale helping Cancer Council Queensland in the fight against cancer.
Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson Katie Clift said the Ugly Xmas Rashie was Australia’s answer to a global Christmas trend.
“It’s simply far too hot for us to don Ugly Xmas Sweaters during summer – but the Ugly Xmas Rashie ensures we can stay on trend and sun safe while supporting a great cause,” Ms Clift said.
“We are proud to be beneficiaries of the sale of every Ugly Xmas Rashie – it’s the gift that keeps on giving.
“The rashie is rated UPF50+, keeping trendsetters safe from the sun while at the beach and investing in vital cancer research, patient support and prevention programs with every purchase.
“Two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer before age 70 – so staying sun safe and raising funds for Cancer Council is more important than ever.”
KOZII Swimwear owner Kay Shallcross said the Ugly Xmas Rashie was a new Australian tradition, handcrafted to the highest quality.
“We thought it was a great opportunity to support the Cancer Council and support our local design and manufacturing businesses right here on the Gold Coast,” Ms Shallcross said.
“KOZII is really thrilled to be involved in this promotion of the Ugly Xmas Rashie – on the beach, they’ll really stand out and make a statement.”
The Ugly Xmas Rashie has been released as a limited edition in a range of unisex sizes.
