The Queensland Cancer Centre is an accommodation support hub for Queenslanders, organised and offered by Cancer Council Queensland. Each of our support hubs are designed to provide individuals and families with a comfortable and convenient place to stay whilst receiving cancer treatment.

We have cancer lodges in five locations across Queensland, all close to major treatment facilities.

This Queensland Cancer Centre is conveniently located to help you easily access the airport, train station and highway. The support lodge is also within walking distance of a shopping centre and supermarket.

The Cancer Council Queensland Cancer Centre is located between Larnach and Margaret streets. You can turn directly off Bruce Highway onto either of these streets to make your way to the lodge on Upper Dawson Road.
For those travelling to Rockhampton via bus, the best way to get to the lodge is by taxi service from the bus depot which is 5km away.

Our Rockhampton lodge has six studio rooms and two one-bedroom units. Each unit will fit two people, allowing you to stay with a family member or carer. The studio rooms are equipped with a private kitchenette, and the one-bedroom units are self-contained with a full kitchen, lounge and laundry. Most rooms also come with a balcony or a courtyard.
Every unit at the Queensland Cancer Centre comes with a private bathroom, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television and a kettle. An initial supply of kitchen essentials, such as tea, coffee and hand soap, is also provided when you check-in.
Our Queensland Cancer Centre is a quiet and welcoming lodge with plenty of space to move around and park your car onsite. All outdoor and indoor facilities are also available for you to use at any time during your stay.

Queensland Health offers a subsidy to approved patients and carers to assist with the cost of travel.

Cancer Council Queensland has set its room rates to match the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme: $70 for a single stay and $140 for a double stay. This ensures that eligible Queenslanders can stay at the lodge with the full cost covered. The volunteer bus service, which provides free transportation to treatment, is fully funded by Cancer Council Queensland at no cost to guests staying at the lodge. Bookings are essential.
Our team is onsite from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) to provide you with any assistance you may need. A courtesy bus is available to transfer you between the lodge and your treatment facility. And our team can provide you with access to social, emotional and practical support. This includes information about, and referrals to Cancer Council Queensland support programs and services. Please call us on 13 11 20 for more information.
No. All Cancer Council Queensland support lodges are smoke free. Please note that no smoking is allowed in the rooms, or outside in any of the communal areas.
