How Will preparation works

Our Free Will Service is provided in partnership with local law firms with qualified solicitors, who can help create your Will, or update your existing Will – for free when you include a gift to Cancer Council Queensland.

You’re welcome to contact any of our partner law firms directly to arrange an appointment. The solicitor will then work with you and take you through the Will preparation process.

Please note: If your Will has detailed provisions that require more complex planning, you will need to discuss additional costs with the referred solicitor based on their usual scale of fees.

Questions you may have…

Do I need to decide how much to leave in my Will before using the Free Will Service?

No, you don’t need to decide on a gift before using our Free Will Service. Our partner solicitors can discuss various options with you, from a percentage of your estate to a fixed sum. The choice is entirely yours, and there’s no minimum amount required.

Can I use the Free Will Service if I already have a Will but want to update it

Yes, our Free Will Service covers both new Wills and updates to existing Wills. Our qualified solicitors can help you make any changes you’d like, whether adding Cancer Council Queensland as a beneficiary or updating other aspects of your Will.
