Caring for Our Community – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Course
In 2018 Cancer Council Queensland will be providing courses for Queensland based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the health field. Courses were held in Rockhampton, Napranum, Bundaberg and Townsville in 2017, Toowoomba and Cairns in February, Brisbane and Springfield in March 2018.
These two-day courses will include information on cancer and cancer treatment, the prevention, screening and early detection of cancer, and end of life care. Financial assistance (bursaries) of up to $700 will be available to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the health field to attend.
