Privacy – Offshore Countries Guideline

Purpose

Cancer Council Queensland (CCQ) acknowledges the importance of protecting personal information and has taken reasonable steps to ensure that your information is used and stored by third parties, including overseas service providers, securely and in accordance with the terms of its Privacy Policy.

This guideline supports CCQ’s Privacy Policy.  Terms defined in the Privacy Policy will have the same meaning in this Guideline.

Process

CCQ may from time to time enter into contractual arrangements with third party service providers to assist CCQ with its operations, including providing its goods and services to you.  As a result personal information provided to CCQ may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Australia.

If you are a guest at one of our lodges your personal information may be transferred to and/or stored in the USA or Singapore. If you are in some way involved in a conference that is associated with us or if you are registered with any CCQ cancer prevention programs or the Health Professional Network your personal information may be transferred to and stored in the United States of America (USA).  If you participate in our CancerConnect program your personal information may be transferred to and stored in the USA or New Zealand.  If you are a Supporter (as defined in paragraph 7.1 of the Privacy Policy) your personal information may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Australia, including but not limited to New Zealand, Netherlands, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, Canada, the USA, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.  If you are a grant applicant applying for a grant or you are completing a survey through Survey Monkey Apply your personal information may be transferred to the USA, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.  If you are an employee or a volunteer your personal information may be transferred to India, the USA, Germany and Serbia.

At any given time some or all of CCQ’s electronic data may be stored in and/or processed in the cloud.  Consequently, your personal information may be transferred to our offshore IT service providers.  The countries in which your personal information may be stored and/or processed include Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, the USA, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, China, India, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.  However, it is not always possible to know in which countries your information may be held.

Personal information may also be processed by staff or by other third parties operating outside Australia who work for us or for one of our suppliers, agents, partners or other Cancer Councils.

We may store your information in cloud or other types of networked or electronic storage.  As electronic or networked storage can be accessed from various countries via an internet connection, it is not always practicable to know in which country your information may be held.  If your information is stored in this way, disclosures may occur in countries other than those listed.
